The first few days have come and gone and the project is taking shape slowly, moulding into a concept and a form. Agonising thoughts of “should I shoot this now”, or “I should have photographed that person earlier” are part of my daily thoughts and some interesting thoughts that have come about.
What picture would you take if it could be only one a day?
Try it out. Test yourself.
Take that one pic a day that you will be happy with.
Create your own 30.
These images are all iphone polaroid’s, so quality is not great. They are digital eye and camera for this project. Click on the images to view as a lightbox.

Create 30
Where does your inspiration come from? For me it often comes from places far removed from wildlife photography. I find that looking at the other genres show completely new approaches to a subject, something unique, for me a new lease.
For the next month I’m in town writing my new book. Not content to be holed up, I’ve been inspired by this project and now I’m planning my own “Create 30” project.
30 days, one roll of black and white film, my Fm2 camera and one picture a day. Ill be taking my camera with me everywhere, everyday to find that one picture a day.
You will of course only see the results in a month’s time, but Ill be posting my experiences and thoughts daily on facebook and twitter. Hopefully a few digital polaroids (like these iphone pics) will also make the grade to give you some insight into what I photographed.
Here’s to a great month of photographing- one shot a day.

Cold nights and clear skies
The cold creeps up in a silent moment. One minute it's humid, the next moment the chill on your neck goes all the way down your back. The onset of the cold dry season is often one that people dislike, as it means TV dinners in front of the heater. For me though, it’s a time of excitement. As I write this, horse-tails of frozen ice are streaking across the sky, and I cant contain myself. It’s going to be a great cold season here in Africa. I for one can't wait!
I don’t have a pic of horse-tails, so this one of a crystal clear night sky will just have to do. (Click on the image to view it in the dark screen)
